Dalam rangka meningkatkan kompetensi lulusan Program Studi Bioteknologi dan dalam rangkaian kegiatan The First International Seminar on Biotechnology 2017, pada tanggal 3-8 Oktober 2017 telah diselenggarakan Binational Practical Course: Basic Methods in Plant Molecular Biology and Plant Physiology. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan berkaitan dengan hibah World Class Professor 2017 dari Ristekdikti dan merupakan bentuk kegiatan kerjasama antara Pusat Studi Bioteknologi dan Humboldt Uninersity, Jerman. Kegiatan ini melibatkan sekitar 18 peserta, sebagian besar adalah mahasiswa S2 dan S3 UGM, staf pendidik muda UGM dan ada 3 orang peserta dari mahasiswa Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Jepang. Kegiatan ini melibatkan instruktur dari UGM: Dr Yekti Asih Purwestri, Dr Tri Rini Nuringtyas dan Febri Adi Susanto, M.Sc. dan dari Humboldt University, Prof. Bernhard Grimm, dan dua orang mahasiswa program doctor, Daniel Hey dan Josephine Herbst. read more

Pusat Studi Bioteknologi UGM bekerja sama dengan Fakultas Biologi UGM mengadakan workshop on Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics pada tanggal 26 – 27 September 2017. Sebagai pakar dibidang tersebut, penyelenggara mengundang Prof. Ingo Schubert dari Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research, Germany. Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama dua hari ini diikuti oleh staf pendidik UGM serta mahasiswa baik S2 dan S3 yang tertarik di bidang Cytogenetics dan Cytogenomics. Selain mengikuti kuliah umum bersama pakar, para peserta juga melakukan praktek laboratorium untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan di bidang Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics. read more
