Senin, 27 Januari hingga Jumat, 21 Februari 2025, tim peneliti dari grup riset Padi berpigmen, Prof. Dr. Yekti Asih Purwestri, yang sekaligus Kepala Pusat Studi Bioteknologi, dan Dr. Siti Nurbaiti, telah mengikuti pelatihan “Gene Editing for Indica Rice and Excellence Through Stewardship” di International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Los Baños, Filipina. Kegiatan ini adalah salah satu bagian dari hibah KONEKSI partnership program antara Australia dan Indonesia yang berjudul “Building a Sustainable Future: Developing Nutritious and Climate-Resilient Crop Varieties“. Setelah pada bulan juni tahun sebelumnya, tim berkesempatan mengikuti pelatihan dan workshop di the ARC Training Center for Future Crops Development, the Australian National University dan University of Adelaide, kolaborasi ini memungkinkan untuk Prof. Yekti dan Dr. Baiti mengikuti training mengenai genome editing selama empat pekan di IRRI, Filipina. read more

Pusat Studi Bioteknologi Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) telah menyelenggarakan Kuliah Umum bertajuk “Biosphere and Socio-Ecological CoViability” yang dilaksanakan di lantai 3 gedung PAU-UGM. Acara yang berlangsung pada tanggal 27 Oktober 2023 ini menghadirkan Keynote Speaker terkemuka: DR. Oliver Barrier, Ahli Hukum Lingkungan dan Antropolog Hukum dari Institute for Research Development, Perancis dan Ioan Robin, Mahasiswa Doktor Antropologi Hukum di University of Limoges, Perancis.
