Prof. Ingo Schubert: Workshop on Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics

Pusat Studi Bioteknologi UGM bekerja sama dengan Fakultas Biologi UGM mengadakan workshop on Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics pada tanggal 26 – 27 September 2017. Sebagai pakar dibidang tersebut, penyelenggara mengundang Prof. Ingo Schubert dari Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research, Germany. Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama dua hari ini diikuti oleh staf pendidik UGM serta mahasiswa baik S2 dan S3 yang tertarik di bidang Cytogenetics dan Cytogenomics. Selain mengikuti kuliah umum bersama pakar, para peserta juga melakukan praktek laboratorium untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan di bidang Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics.

 

World Class Professor Program 2017 di Pusat Studi Bioteknologi

Pusat Studi Bioteknologi tahun ini berhasil memperoleh hibah Program World Class Professor (WCP) dari Ristekdikti. Program tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah bagi dosen di ranah Internasional. Dalam kegiatan ini Pusat Studi Bioteknologi mengundang para pakar (Professor) dari berbagai Institusi terbaik dunia dan memiliki h-index tinggi dalam publikasi ilmiah, sehingga dapat memberikan sharing ilmu mengenai publikasi ilmiah di jurnal internasional bereputasi. Program ini berlangsung selama bulan September hingga Desember 2017. Pakar yang diundang oleh Pusat Studi Bioteknologi untuk berkolaborasi dalam Program WCP adalah:

  • Prof. Ingo Schubert (Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Reseach, Germany)
  • Prof. Bernhard Grimm (Humboldt University, Germany)
  • A/Prof. John Thomas (The University of Queensland, Australia)
  • Prof. Andre Drenth (The University of Queensland, Australia)
  • Prof. Paul Holford (Western Sydney University, Australia)
  • Prof. Paul Taylor (The University of Melbourne, Australia)
  • Prof. Glyn Jenkins (Aberystwyth University, UK)
  • Prof. Luis A. Mur (Aberystwyth University, UK)

Selain menjadi narasumber dalam Workshop Penulisan artikel ilmiah di jurnal internasional bereputasi, beberapa pakar yang diundang juga mengisi Workshop Penulisan Proposal Hibah Internasional, Kuliah Umum dan Pelatihan di Laboratorium sesuai bidang masing-masing.

THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON BIOTECHNOLOGY (ISB-UGM 2017)

Biotechnology is now considered as a promising tool for achieving sustainable developmental goals in the world. Achieving zero hunger, good public health services, affordable and clean energy, and sustainable environmental systems were become the most notable goals should consider.

The concept of sustainability is not only ensure the availability of the raw natural resources with the huge number, while the land of their habitats is neglected. Instead, the urge of sustainability is creating a biotechnology system to provide the final product needed by world society through the bioeconomy principles.

The 1st International Seminar on Biotechnology 2017, UGM will be the proper event to discuss on how the current condition of biotechnology in international scope, as well as define the challenges of conducting the research in biotechnology prior to future prospect of applicational itself. This one-day event will provide research institutions, academy and industry scientist a platform to discuss recent advances in Biotechnolog and an opportunity to establish multilateral collaborations.
