Pusat Studi Bioteknologi UGM bekerja sama dengan Fakultas Biologi UGM mengadakan workshop on Cytogenetics and Cytogenomics pada tanggal 26 – 27 September 2017. Sebagai pakar dibidang tersebut, penyelenggara mengundang Prof. Ingo Schubert dari Leibniz Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research, Germany. Kegiatan yang berlangsung selama dua hari ini diikuti oleh staf pendidik UGM serta mahasiswa baik S2 dan S3 yang tertarik di bidang Cytogenetics dan Cytogenomics. Pusat Studi Bioteknologi tahun ini berhasil memperoleh hibah Program World Class Professor (WCP) dari Ristekdikti. Program tersebut bertujuan untuk meningkatkan publikasi ilmiah bagi dosen di ranah Internasional. Dalam kegiatan ini Pusat Studi Bioteknologi mengundang para pakar (Professor) dari berbagai Institusi terbaik dunia dan memiliki h-index tinggi dalam publikasi ilmiah, sehingga dapat memberikan sharing ilmu mengenai publikasi ilmiah di jurnal internasional bereputasi.
