Komodo and Wildlife One Health Summer Course 2021

One Health Collaborating Center Universitas Gadjah Mada (OHCC UGM) under The Research Center for Biotechnology Universitas Gadjah Mada was holding the Komodo Summer Course since 2019. Komodo and Wildlife One Health Summer Course (KWOHSC) which took place for two weeks, 5 July-16 July 2021 was successfully held. The summer course this year was held virtually comparing to the previous 2019 Komodo Summer Course that was held offline in Labuan Bajo when visited Komodo National Park due to the COVID-19 pandemic. read more

Virtual RUBIS International Workshop “The Resilience of Rubber-based Agroforestry Systems in the Context of Global Change”

RUBIS International Workshop on the Resilience of Rubber-based Agroforestry Systems in the Context of Global Change is organized by a consortium of CIRAD, IRRI, and UGM; under the umbrella of the RUBIS (RUbber agroforestry Breeding Initiative for Smallholders) project. This international workshop was held on April 5th – 9th 2021 and aims to bring together key scientific actors to deliver a complete inventory of all studies on rubber-based agroforestry systems and to define a comprehensive typology of this system to provide new directions in the development of rubber-based agroforestry systems that are more efficient and resilient to global changes. read more

The Biotechnology Study Center at Gadjah Mada University, in collaboration with ForMind Institute, organized the event “Proteomics and Metabolomics Talk for Human Welfare”

On Monday (2/3/2020), the Biotechnology Study Center at Gadjah Mada University, in collaboration with Formind Institute, organized a series of discussions titled “Proteomics and Metabolomics Talk For Human Welfare.” The purpose of these discussions was to delve deeper and wider into the utilization and development of proteomics and metabolomics in the field of Biotechnology. Around 40 participants and invited guests actively took part in the discussion. Apart from UGM, participants came from various universities and institutions such as UI, UNS, UIN Walisongo Semarang, Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute (Puslitkoka) Jember, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI), and HPPBI. read more

Workshop Capacity Building for Young Scientist on Plant Disease Management

The Biotechnology Study Center at Gadjah Mada University, in collaboration with QAAFI-University of Queensland and Crawford Fund Australia, organized a workshop titled “Capacity Building for Young Scientists on Plant Disease Management.” The workshop featured Professor Andre Drenth from Queensland University as the main speaker. Professor Andre Drenth, a World Class Professor, was invited by the Biotechnology Study Center.

The workshop, held at the Biotechnology Study Center, spanned 5 days from February 10th to 14th, 2020. The event involved 12 selected students from Gadjah Mada University, who actively participated. The participants were provided with valuable training to enhance their presentation skills in English and to develop manuscripts for internationally reputable journals. Additionally, the workshop equipped the participants with the necessary tools to become successful researchers. read more
