Workshop Capacity Building for Young Scientist on Plant Disease Management

The Research Center for Biotechnology Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with QAAFI- University of Queensland and CrawFord Fund Australia held a Capacity Building workshop for Young Scientists on Plant Disease Management by inviting Professor Andre Drenth from Queensland University as a resource person. Prof. Andre Drenth is a World Class Professor who was invited by the Center for Biotechnology Studies. The workshop, which was held at the Center for Biotechnology Studies, was held for 5 days from February 10-14, 2020. A total of 12 selected Universitas Gadjah Mada students actively participated in this event. Participants were taught to improve their presentation skills in English and manuscript writing for internationally reputable journals. In addition, participants also gained provisions to become successful researchers.

This workshop is in line with improving the quality of education as stated in the 4th SDG and is also expected to have a positive impact on future climate improvement, in accordance with the 13th SDG. As well as this activity is an effort to promote how to protect and restore ecosystems in a sustainable manner such as the 15th SDG.
